Fabric painting on Sari

I painted this long back during summer afternoons with the georgette sari spread on the dining table! It seemed like miles and miles of painting similar flowers and leaves as it was a border pattern. It was a lengthy, exhaustive job no doubt but totally worth it.

Fabric painting on saris is fast acquiring due recognition and appreciation. Nowadays ladies want their saris to look unique and one of a kind, its indeed depressing to find another lady wearing an identical sari !
Handpainted saris can be customised according to one's choice.
Cotton saris look beautiful and more so if they are handpainted in lively colrs and design.
The blue sari in the photo has dainty pink flowers painted on the border and pallu.

This fabric painting has been done on a 100% cotton cushion covers. Handpainted cushion covers are a talking point alright, I have been getting many feelers for painting cushions and bedsheets ,maybe I will take up the offer!

Fabric Painting

Fabric Painting really brightens up any plain fabric quite easily and one can personalise it too.Long ago I had painted a favourite cartoon character for a child's bedsheet with fabric colors and it was much appreciated!
Now I have used decorative painting techniques and one stroke painting for this bedsheet and was able to complete it quite fast.
I could not find a proper bedsheet pattern and so did it freehand.Maybe the next one will be more professional!
The bedsheet is a readymade one so it was easy. Sometimes a frame is recommended for fabric painting but I find it pretty uncomfortable to hold the frame with one hand and paint with the other like embroidery!
