Sculpture Painting workshop

 Sculpture painting has acquired a massive following in recent years, the 3d flowers look very beautiful and enhance  the ambience of any surrounding.

Stress busting sculpture painting painting  is easy and fun, no prior experience required, anyone can learn the smooth strokes which result in 3d flowers.A few hours of playing with palette knifes and one can end up with a beautiful 3d painting  ready to take home!

Any sculpture painting requires at least 10- 15 days to dry ,though the paste is water soluble it dries up rock hard  when exposed to air. The drying process cannot be hurried , later the ready painting can be framed or displayed otherwise.

Sculpture painting workshop details are as follows -

1 Prepare base

2 Condition paste

3 Practise session of  different strokes with palette knifes.

4 Completing the painting comprising of a rose , bud leaves.

The base can be mdf, canvas board, photo frame clock base, tissue box holder etc.

Diy Wall Clock

 

Do it yourself Wall clock sounds exciting and thrilling , and can be made easily.
Let's start by making a list of materials required
1 Clock base mdf , with a hole for the clock mechanism to fit in.
2 Clock mechanism with needles and dial
3 Stencils ,if one wants to be creative
4 Sculpture paste , palette knifes as required /clay
5 Glue
6 Chalk / Acrylic paints for painting base
METHOD
1 Paint base , select color based on the color scheme ,double coat.
2 Stencil with texture paste or sculpture plaster /paste (optional)
3 Adhere the dial , center it with the hole on the base using a ruler
4 Make the flowers with sculpture paste/ clay
5 Place flowers and leaves around the dial keeping in mind the moving clock needles
6 Let the flowers dry for a couple of days
7 Time to fix the clock mechanism -
Insert the clock mechanism in the hole from the reverse side , slip in the washers provided and tighten it,  hour hand goes first, then minute hand and last the seconds one.
Add the cell in the clock mechanism and enjoy the diy clock ticking away.
PS - Add the hanging hook at the back , some diy clock bases come with the attached, hooks are also available in hardware stores.

 Sculpture painting is a very satisfying and creative outlet. It's amazing to see beautiful life-like natural flowers appear as one plays around with sculpture paste and palette knifes !

Quilling Typography

Hello everyone, l have not posted for a long time, due to obvious reasons .All of us have been under tremendous strain due to the pandemic , normal life has taking a beating, but what has kept me sane is my craft therapy. 

Paper quilling has always intrigued me and I was thrilled to rediscover some my  quilling supplies  again , a perfect beginning to the new year. Well ,a new year also augurs new beginnings , so here I am with my trials with paper monograms, branching off into uncharted territory is my idea of fun.

 

 A few hours of playing with paper and glue, learning something new from from my peers is indeed liberating and relaxing.

Clay Floral candle decor

Candles and flowers make a perfect couple and look awesome together . Clay flowers are a good choice for making table decorations, with or without candles as they do not wilt, require water and look fresh for years.These clay flower decorations can be prepared  well in advance and kept ready for any celebration or festival , co -ordinated with the color scheme as per choice. Paper tole

Paper tole or 3 d decoupage is a relatively new craft for me as it was very difficult to search and buy paper tole sheets . I had been admiring the work of my peers but could not get my hands on the relevant paper sheets. Finally I found what I wanted and began my experiments with them  , my new craft for 2020 !
 Paper tole is layering of various paper cut outs on to each other to give a  raised effect aided by foam pieces and silicone glue. It also requires shaping of petals , flowers and other objects to give body and movement to paper images.

Foamiran flower hair band

Foamiran flowers are great for creating fashion accessories as they are light weight, soft and  nearly unbreakable , unless someone goes on a rampage !
The flowers were ready, made sometime ago, waiting for a project , arranging peach , pinks , white and cream roses and buds  on a hair band was a dream come true.
All my flowers are handmade and need adequate time to make so its convenient to have some flowers ready at hand for a similar exciting project.

Decoupage bottle tutorial

 Decoupage is a good way of upcycling empty bottles and showcasing the craft. It enhances the ambiance and also brings a lot of compliments !
  MATERIALS REQUIRED
1 A clean dry bottle (remove  labels by soaking the bottle overnight)
2  Paper napkin or decoupage paper of one's  choice
3 Modge Podge or decoupage glue, brushes, sponges
4 Stencil, acrylic colors
METHOD
Double paint  the clean bottle with chalk paint or use spray paint, dry.
Next use the upper layer of the paper napkin , cut off the pattern required. Glue the paper napkin as desired with decoupage glue.
Decide the placement of the stenciled word and carefully stencil it.
Dry the entire project and varnish.
A beautiful bottle is ready for display or gifting to a friend.

Rose Sculpture Painting

Sculpture painting, also known as 3 d decorative plaster flowers is the trendiest craft nowadays. The large voluminous flowers are very eye catching and look fantastic as home decor. These flowers are made with palette knifes and special sculpture paste which stays put and retains structure and height as soon as it is applied.
 A quick introduction about floral sculpture painting is in order. It has been made popular by an enterprising Russian young lady who also makes and markets the sculpture paste in several delectable shades. She also takes workshops and has trained several people in this art.
Welding the palette knifes is easy and its pure magic to see the flower take shape in a few deft knife strokes! Practice makes perfect and one can master the knife strokes and make beautiful decorative panels and floral frames for home decor for self use or gifting purposes.

Sculptural Painting Flowers

 Sculptural painting or knife painting is my latest hobby and now 3 d voluminous flowers are blooming on my craft table! Flowers are my all time favorite , I have made them in various materials and its fun learning a new technique. These flowers are made with  palette knifes and thick paste , both  have to be deftly handled to give desired shape of petals and leaves.
 The thick paste flowers harden in a couple of days and make awesome decor , many different flowers  can be made with the same technique and the same 3 d results.
These sculpture paste flowers are different from air dry clay ones in several ways including the technique. I am happy to utilize my surplus craft mdf supplies into gorgeous decor pieces while learning a new hobby.

   Clay flowers are eco -friendly, durable and remain fresh for years ,they are also not as fragile as they appear, easy to maintain and truly awesome !
 I have been making clay flowers for several years and some of my favorites are still with me -beautiful as ever.
Clay flowers can be used for decorating keepsake boxes, jewelry boxes , favor boxes or gift boxes , the list is endless!

3 D Decoupage

3 D decoupage is the latest to catch the interest of many as the beautiful  3 d flowers add an exotic element to any decorative project. It can be called advanced decoupage as it combines the elements of simple decoupage with 3 dimensional images which gives a more realistic effect.
